At Rosellini Scientific, we empower freedom from disease by developing intelligent medical rehabilitation devices to support patients post-procedure. Dr. Emily Rosellini attended Oklahoma State University on a soccer scholarship where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology. She went on to Medical School at the University of Texas-Houston where she received her Doctor of Medicine with Honors. She has completed a residency at UT-Houston and now is a practicing anesthesiologist with North Texas Anesthesia Group in Dallas, TX. Emily has served as President of Rosellini Scientific since 2011.
Hartmut Spitaels, MSc.E, MBA came on board as President of Rosellini Scientific Benelux S.A. in June 2013. His role in the company’s new European office in Brussels, Belgium is to enable international collaboration between Rosellini Scientific and leading European clinicians and investors.
Spitaels, a medical technology entrepreneur, brings over 11 years of experience in implantable devices to the Rosellini Scientific team. He specializes in the transition from development to first-in-man clinical proof. Early in his career he developed a non-invasive diagnostic tool for the monitoring of implantable heart prosthesis in collaboration with Saint Jude Medical. He sold an exclusive license of this diagnostic tool to the Centre for Experimental Surgery and Anesthesia (CEHA).
He is an inventor on three patent applications in the field of implantable technology and is an accredited expert for the European Commission, Lifesciences Branch. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering and a Master in Biomedical Engineering and Technology, magna cum laude from the KuLeuven, Belgium. He graduated from the international MBA program at the Vlerick-Business School with great honor.
Sheneka Rains joined the leadership team of Rosellini Scientific in 2012 bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in Healthcare Technology Management.
With a passion for improving healthcare systems, Sheneka applies this determination to creating solutions that improve safety and reduce the costs associated with the maintenance of biomedical equipment while ensuring the highest levels of patient satisfaction and adherence to industry standards. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering and the nationally recognized CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) certification, Sheneka began her career with MediSend International where she took on the challenging role of teaching Clinical Engineering principles to Biomedical Engineers native to the healthcare systems of the developing world.
Sheneka continues to contribute to the effort through active participation in the North Texas Biomedical Association where she worked to implement, and currently maintains member management technology that allows the association to bring together some of the best minds in the industry.
Since 2012, Austin Duke, PhD has served as the Director of Emerging Technologies at Rosellini Scientific where he leads research and development, directs non-dilutive funding efforts, and provides consultation to medical device startups. Austin's background is in the development of hybrid optical-electrical neurostimulation technologies. He has published in diverse journals and is inventor on two patent applications. His work has been highlighted in Nature Photonics and was named a Highlight of 2012 by Journal of Neural Engineering. Austin is driven by a passion for translating innovative ideas into technologies that can restore quality of life for patients suffering from debilitating conditions.
Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1997, Austin self-administred multiple insulin injections on a daily basis for several years. When he received his first insulin pump, his quality of life was restored and his eyes were opened to the potential impact of a career as a scientist and engineer pursuing technologies to treat diverse medical challenges. With this motivation, Austin obtained Master of Science and Doctoral degrees in Biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University, where his research focused on the pre-clinical development of novel optical and electrical techniques for interacting with excitable biological tissues. Prior to Vanderbilt, Austin received a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a concentration in biomedical instrumentation.
Dr. Beth Rosellini is a fourth-generation dentist with a patient-care philosophy centered on high quality, comprehensive, and compassionate treatment. She graduated with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. She then obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry. She is currently in private practice in the DFW metroplex and is an active member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. Beth joined Rosellini Scientific as Chief Dental Officer in 2013.
